The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And rejects goodness, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
