The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and extended shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
