And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
