The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 by the promised day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
