And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
