Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
