Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
