Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 We helped them and they were victorious. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 Peace be upon Moosa and Haroon! 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 when he said to his people, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them). 128 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
