[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
