Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 2 Verily in the heavens and the earth are signs unto the believers. 3 and in your own creation; and in the animals which He spreads out over the earth too there are Signs for those endowed with sure faith; 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 These are the revelations of God which We recite to you for a genuine purpose. In what statements other than God's and His revelations will they then believe? 6 Alas the woe for every dissembling sinner 7 Who hears the revelations of God being recited to him, yet persists in denying with arrogance as though he had never heard them! So warn him of a painful punishment. 8 And when he knows anything of Our signs, he takes them in mockery; those for them awaits a humbling chastisement. 9 Before them is hell, and there shall not avail them aught of what they earned, nor those whom they took for guardians besides Allah, and they shall have a grievous punishment. 10 This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath. 11
