The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and extended shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
