These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and many from the later generations. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury 45 And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.) 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 and thereupon you shall drink boiling water, 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. 56 WE who have created you, [O men:] why, then, do you not accept the truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 Had We so wished, nothing could have hindered Us from replacing you by others like yourselves, or transforming you into beings you know nothing about. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 Have you thought about what crops you plant? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 Have you considered the fire you kindle? 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 73 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
