The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a mighty day, 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 It will then be said, "This is what you used to deny." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
