۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 in a hidden Book 78 no one can touch it except the purified ones. 79 A revelation by the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 And you at that time look on-- 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 So why is it not, that if you are not to be repaid, – 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 And if he is one of those on the right hand, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty! 96
