The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
