Have you not seen how those who dispute the signs of God are turned away? 69 they who give the lie to this divine writ and [thus] to all [the messages] with which We sent forth Our apostles [of old]? But in time they will come to know [how blind they have been: they will know it on Judgment Day,] 70 when fetters will be placed around their necks and chains will drag them 71 Into the boiling water; then into the Fire they will be stocked. 72 It will then be asked of them: 'Where are those whom you associated, 73 Beside Allah? They will say: they have failed us; aye! we have not been calling upon aught afore. Thus doth Allah lead the infidels astray. 74 “This is the recompense of your being happy upon falsehood in the earth, and the recompense of your conceit.” 75 So enter the gates of Hell to abide in it for ever." How evil the abode of the arrogant! 76 So be patient, surely the promise of Allah is true. So should We make you see part of what We threaten them with, or should We cause you to die, to Us shall they be returned. 77 Indeed We sent many Messengers before you: of them there are some whose account We have narrated to you and there are others whose account We have not narrated to you. It did not lie in any Messenger's power to bring any Sign except with Allah's leave. So when Allah's decree came, the matter was decided with justice, and those steeped in error courted utter loss, then and there. 78
