Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
