Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 "And make him share my task: 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 and remember You much: 34 Lo! Thou art ever Seeing us. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 Indeed, We showed Our favour to you before also, 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Pharaoh said, 'Who is your Lord, Moses?' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
