The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
