[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember you often. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 “When We inspired in your mother’s heart whatever was to be inspired.” 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement awaits those who called the lie to the truth and turned away from it.' " 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
