And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
