And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
