The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah's commandment has come, therefore do not desire to hasten it; glory be to Him, and highly exalted be He above what they associate (with Him). 1 He sends down the angels with the soul of faith – the divine revelations – towards those among His bondmen He wills that, “There is no worship except for Me, therefore fear Me.” 2 He has created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [an inner] truth; sublimely exalted is He above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 3 He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent. 4 And the cattle hath He created, whence ye have warm clothing and uses, and whereof ye eat; 5 In them there is beauty for you when you bring them home and when you lead them to pasture. 6 They carry your heavy loads to lands which you would not have been able to reach without great difficulty. Your Lord is certainly Compassionate and All-Merciful. 7 And horses, and mules, and donkeys so that you may ride them, and for adornment; and He will create what you do not know*. (* All modern means of transport – by air, sea, land and even in space – evidence this.) 8 The straight way leads to God and there are ways which deviate from the right course. If He so wished, He would guide you all. 9
