There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered, 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
