۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
