The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
