The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
