The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
