The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
