He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruit and grass - 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
