Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And raiding at dawn 3 raising a trail of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Indeed man is very ungrateful towards his Lord. 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted. 11
