Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 "O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Do not betray me 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
