A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 "Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 "He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him." 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 Then sent We Our Messengers successively; whenever its Messenger came to a nation they cried him lies, so We caused some of them to follow others, and We made them as but tales; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a manifest authority 45 to Pharaoh and to his chiefs, but they behaved superciliously and they were haughty. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
