Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
