The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
