In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
