The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
