3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
