The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And your garments do purify, 4 stay away from sins 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
