Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and believe in His messages 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
