The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
