The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
