In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
