(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
