Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha, Meem. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working. 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
