And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt. 45 Whoever does what is just and right, does so for his own good; and whoever does evil, does so to his own detriment: and God is never in the least unjust to His creatures. 46 ۞ Unto Him is remitted the knowledge of the Hour. And not a fruit cometh forth from the knops thereof; neither doth a female bear or bring forth but with His knowledge. And on the Day whereon He will call unto them: where are my associates? they will say: we protest unto Thee, none of us is a witness thereof. 47 Then all those deities whom they once used to call upon shall vanish and they will come to know for sure that there is no escape for them. 48 Man wearies not of praying for good, but when evil visits him, he despairs and gives up all hope. 49 If We give him a taste of Our favour after some distress he has known, he says: "It was my due. I cannot imagine the Hour will come. And even if I go back to my Lord, there will surely still be the best for me with Him." We shall tell those who do not believe what they used to do, and inflict on them a heavy punishment. 50 When We bestow Our favour upon man, he turns away and waxes proud; but when a misfortune touches him, he is full of supplication. 51 Say: "Just think. If this is from God and you deny it, who will be in greater error than he who is in open dissent?" 52 We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things? 53 They are certainly doubtful about their meeting with their Lord. God indeed encompasses all things. 54
