He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 and fearfully, 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
