No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
