The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A written record, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
