The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
